Sorry for not posting, I am enjoying my vacation from work and blogs. 🙂

I am reading a very interesting book by Gary Taubes called “What Makes Us Fat: And What To Do About It.” He explains how the decades old thinking that ‘calories in minus calories out equals fat’ is wrong and that good science regarding insulin’s role in regulating fat tissue has been totally ignored.

In other news…I hit the Endurance WOD at noon yesterday and my range was 1:40-1:46 for all five rounds in the 100+ degree gym. Then, Andy and Steven were doing 100m sprints on the minute, so I did 4 of those.  For my evening workout, I did a 7 minute AMRAP of thrusters and dips until my shoulders fell off.

CrossFit Rowing WOD

6 x 2min w/ 1:30 Rest

CrossFit Endurance – Tues/Thurs/Sun

5 x 500m with 1:00 rest

Concept 2 WOD

5000m with rate changes every 1000m: 22-24-26-28-24
Row for a total of 5000 meters at a sustainable intensity, varying your stroke rate as follows:
row 1000 meters @ 22 spm,
1000 meters @ 24 spm,
1000 meters @ 26 spm,
1000 meters @ 28 spm,
and 1000 meters @ 24 spm
