I see folks that go heavy everyday. I see people that are injured and refuse to take time off, further injuring themselves. When written out, it seems obvious, but sometimes the drive to workout is so strong that it can cloud judgement. Maybe it is an addiction.

I’m guilty of taking too few rest days from time to time, but I am getting better at listening to my body. I am also increasing my knowledge on why we must rest by reading lots of information everyday. I always try to include a link to two that will help you on your journey. Today, I am also including a quote from CrossFit Rowing about why you can’t go heavy everyday.

How come we can’t just lift heavy and row hard all the time?  Well some people may think that they can, but inevitably they get injured or hit a plateau.  So how do we improve if we plateau?  One way is to back off a little to focus on other aspects of lifting or rowing like speed and power.
