The challenge is over and we rowed more than 210,000 meters which is very good in terms of CrossFit. In my opinion, you get a bit more out of rowing when you substitute it for running. You are still working your legs, but you end up working your arms, shoulders, and back too. I am unable to run without my knee swelling up to grapefruit size the next day, so rowing has been a great thing for me.

The next challenge is the Valentine Challenge February 9-14. The goal is to row 14,000 meters in the 5 day span.

Concept2 – Short WOD

5000m with rate changes every 1000m: 28-24-20-24-28

Row for a total of 5000 meters at a sustainable intensity, varying your stroke rate as follows: row 1000 meters @ 28 spm, 1000 meters @ 24 spm, 1000 meters @ 20 spm, 1000 meters @ 24 spm, and 1000 meters @ 28 spm.

    ok so i had to join the Y and cant go to cf for a little while but am still doing cf wods. can i still be part of the rowing challenge even if im not a member at the cf tulsa box?

    Absolutely. The next team challenge is March 15-April 15. Just follow the steps and check here everyday for some rowing ideas. I will post team challenge updates.
